What Is A Cloffice?

Meet my cloffice - A bedroom that was turned into both a walk in closet office space and glam room… A closet and an office combined into one intentional space.

Instead of treating your wardrobe and your workspace as two separate areas fighting for room in your house, a cloffice blends them together. Think built-ins for clothes, shelves for shoes and bags, a desk built into the layout, maybe a big mirror for outfit try ons.

It’s basically a functional, elevated dressing room that also doubles as your work zone. Perfect if you run a business from home, create content, or just want a space that supports both getting ready and getting things done.

Today I'm sharing an up close and personal closet home office tour and everything I used to turn my home office into a closet.

Why Convert a Bedroom Into a Walk In Closet Office?

If you’re a fashion girly with too many clothes you don’t know what to do with, a content creator constantly filming, or a business owner working from home, you know how fast your space can start to feel chaotic. Clothes pile up, packages stack up, and suddenly your bedroom is half office, half dressing room.

Turning a spare bedroom into a walk in closet office creates the perfect, calming sanctuary. It becomes your getting ready space, a content studio, glam room, and your work zone all in one.

How To Plan a Cloffice Design

Before ordering a closet system, setting up your desk and getting ready space, the first step to creating a functional walk in closet office is planning the layout. This allows the space feels open, organized, and productive rather than cramped or cluttered.

1. Measure the Room First

Start by measuring the dimensions of the bedroom you’re converting. Take note of wall width, ceiling height, and window placement. Knowing exactly how much depth you have will determine what kind of closet system to use. Ceiling height is also important if you plan to add upper shelving for bags or seasonal storage.

2. Decide Which Wall Is for Closet Storage vs. Desk Space

Next, designate one main wall (or two corner walls) for clothing, shoe and accessories storage.

Your desk area should feel intentional and separate, even if it’s in the same room. Many people prefer placing the closet system along the longest wall and dedicating a shorter wall or center of the room for the desk setup. One area is for fashion and storage, the other for focuses on work and productivity.

3. Consider Window Placement

If your space has a window figure out how you want to use the natural light. A desk placed near a window is ideal for content creation and meetings/calls. You’ll want to balance natural light with functional wall space.

4. Plan Lighting Intentionally

Walk in cloffices often need layered lighting. Overhead fixtures provide general illumination, but adding wall sconces, desk lamps, or even LED strip lights inside shelves can really elevate the space. Good lighting is important if you’re using the room for getting ready or filming content.

5. Plan Electrical Outlets for Your Desk Area

Notice where electrical outlets are located. Your desk will need power for a computer, ring light, printer, or chargers. If there are not many outlets, you can always run an extension cord nearby.

6. Leave Comfortable Walking Space

A walk in closet office should feel spacious. Leave as much space as possible, especially in front of drawers or hanging sections. This prevents the space from feeling cramped and keeps it feeling elevated.

Mirror and Glam Space Ideas for a Walk In Closet Office

And of course every cloffice needs a large mirror. I made sure I got one that was nice and large. This one is perfect!

It’s also great for sitting on the floor to makeup as well :)

Side note: I really think one of my favorite parts about my entire closet office space is the floral wallpaper. It really brought it to life, and added so much color/pink!
