Now that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is in full swing for all cardholders, I thought I would share what I ended up purchasing from my shopping trip earlier this week, and items I already own that are currently in the sale! I'm really excited about the pieces I purchased so far because they ended up being nothing I had anticipated coming home with! (In a good way)
If you're not familiar with the sale or understand what it is, I explained everything here on my previous post. I also shared some of my top picks in each category of the sale on this blog post as well. For today's post, I specifically wanted to dive in detail on what I ended up getting.
I tried on a ton of things in store, but only ended up going home with 5 things for now. I'm also still waiting for a few items to come back in stock online for now.
Here's the first look I put together with a few of the items I picked up:
One of my favorite items I purchased yesterday was this extremely soft and fluffy turtleneck sweater. I purchased it in the Rust Sequoia color! I definitely don't have enough of this color in my wardrobe. This sweater is budget friendly under $35, and comes in 10 other colors! It definitely runs large, and it is suggested to size down 1, but I stayed true to size for a cozier fit :)
I paired the sweater with the infamous Spanx Faux Leather Leggings. I purchased these during the sale last year, and it has probably been one of my favorite nsale purchases to date! I literally will never wear normal leggings ever again. These leggings are on sale for $64 right now and after the sale will go back up to $99. They typically only go on sale that low once or twice a year, so the sale is the perfect time to snag a pair. They are made with tummy tucking technology as well as skin smoothing technology, which why they are typically a splurge.
These boots were a bit of a splurge for me this year. I'm actually super excited about them, I can't stop thinking about them! (lol) I typically don't spend $150 on a pair of shoes, but there's a few reasons as to why I thought they were worth the price.
1) They are a staple boot. A heeled knee high boot never goes out of style, so I won't have to worry about trends changing.
2) the color Tortilla Suede is such a classic. It literally goes with everything in my wardrobe.
3) Lastly, I know $150 sounds like a lot in one sitting just for a pair of shoes... But when I look back each year and think about how much I spend on knee high or thigh boots that I'm not happy with in total, it ends up costing more than $150 season after season. I am hoping to get about 3-7+ years out of these boots.
My second outfit I picked up is another favorite of mine. Again, consisting of another item I definitely didn't expect to purchase! My black tank top is actually from Abercrombie, but there is an identical one on Nordstrom's website for sale for less than the version I have!
The Nordstrom Anniversary sale is always the perfect time to add Barefoot Dreams products to your wardrobe. Typically this brand is more of a splurge, but prices aren't too bad during the sale! If you're not familiar with Barefoot Dreams, they create some of the softest home goods, and clothing items to the touch. They are made up of 100% Polyester Microfiber. The ultra fine rayon/span knit comes in flattering silhouettes and are perfect for everyday lounging.
I love Madewell because of their high quality products. This scarf has the prettiest mustard color, and I absolutely loved the plaid back front and back with opposite colors. It also has a beautiful almost silk feel to the sweater-y material. It's a super simple, pattern, but perfect for fall, and will go with so many neutral pieces!
I actually bought this pair last year during the sale, and Nordstrom brought them back again this year but with a little bit of a different detail in the slit. I own them in the tortilla suede color, which is available again this year. This bootie comes in 5 total colors, and is the perfect heel height. They run true to size, and I find them very comfortable to wear throughout the day. They match with every outfit I have in my closet, and look adorable being worn all year round with denim, dresses, shorts, etc.
Here's the third item I brought home with me. Another easy Fall outfit idea:
This sweater was one of the original items on my wishlist. It comes in 4 colors total, and is such a warm chunky knit for fall and winter. I originally wanted the cream or orange color, but happy I ended up with the red. I sized up one because that was one of the few sizes left, and I'm glad I did because it gave me a little bit extra length, and a more oversized cozy feel.
These snakeskin loafers are so comfortable, I wear them at least once a week. They match a ton, and are beginning to feel like a neutral and staple piece in my closet. They're budget friendly at just below $40! They run true to size.
The last outfit I put together consists of some super cozy, warm pieces:
I bought this last year in the Milk color, and this year they brought the exact same one back, but added some leopard trim. I personally think this year's pullover is cuter, but I don't need 2 that look exactly identical. I wanted to share it anyways because its probably the warmest piece of clothing I've ever owned. They run oversized so I made sure to size down one because it felt too bulky being oversized. I love that the inside is the same material as the outside.
Again, I bought last year's version, but this year's version is identical except with a buckle. Love that new detail! I think the height of them is adorable, and they dress up your outfit a bit more with the lower heel height, and slit. Just as cozy as normal uggs, but a little bit more affordable, and also run true to size.
Lastly, I also just ended up ordering these white Steve Madden mules. My wishlist consisted of the taupe color, but I decided to order the white for now. I wear a pair of white spring/summer mules almost all spring and summer, and decided that these white ones would be great for fall and winter to replace them! These mules are currently under $50, and run slightly small, so make sure to size up half!
Overall, I'm very happy with my purchases so far this year. There still are a few things on my wishlist currently sold out, so I will be constantly checking back on them. If I'm able to get them I will update this blog post and list them here.
