3 Fall Looks From Plato's Closet

Hey babes! I've been asking what types of content you've been looking to see this Fall, and I've gotten quite a few responses that y'all want to see outfit finds from Plato's Closet! I am TOTALLY here for that. I am so excited to be partnering with Plato's Closet for today's post to make that happen!  I've styled 3 different outfits to help transition you into Fall for under $100! All opinions are my own.

Adding new pieces to your wardrobe doesn't have to break the bank. With Fall quickly approaching, I know how tempting it is see your favorite bloggers sharing the cutest new sweater, or the flirtiest booties. Trust me, I get tempted myself as well!

At Plato's closet, you'll find a huge selection of trendy and designer items at a fraction of the cost to shop! Brands like American Eagle, VS PINK, Free People, Nike, Kate Spade, etc. Yes, I'm talking thrift store prices! They also buy your gently used, and no longer needed clothing, accessories and shoes. Their stores buy and sell sizes between SX-3XL, 00-30, and shoe sizes 5-13. They pay cash on the spot for these items so you do not need to wait until they sell.

So how does selling to them and making money work? Make sure your clothes are gently used with no stains, holes, odors, fading or excessive wear. They like to make sure they stay on current trend with your other retail stores in the malls, so they typically only take items that have been on trend within the last 2 years.

After deciding which clothes you want to part with, make sure to find some sort of bag, box or bin to keep everything together. Once all together, bring your items in for review! You will walk into the store, and drop your items off at the very front counter upon being greeted by their sweet sales associates. They will have you sign in and ask for ID of verification to hold you accountable for any clothes you are bringing in for legal reasons. While you wait, you can shop around and find new pieces like I do that you can just swap items for, or run some errands and check back later.

Typically Plato's Closet sells your items in their store for about 50-70% off the retail prices of the items, and then the cash you receive is about 1/3 of that. So if they are selling an item for $10, you will make $3. Doesn't sound like very much, but if you need some quick cash, it definitely adds up! I somtimes get between $100-$200 when I go!

Once your clothes have been finished being reviewed, you can head up to the cash registers and wait in line with the slip they gave you so you can grab your cash! They will explain the great things about your items, but also explain why they couldn't take any leftovers. If you are not happy about the offer they give you, you are more than happy to decline it, or take any items away that you may have changed your mind about.

Overall, I personally love shopping at Plato's Closet because you can find some extremely trendy pieces at very low prices; Sometimes brand new with tags for WAY less than half the cost! I love being able to just get cash when I need it, and I definitely find myself selling about once a month to make room for new items in my closet! Blogger life, LOL.

But on another note, Plato's Closet is great for any occasions you may have. I can totally understand it's hard to sometimes spend $50 on an outfit for an upcoming wedding, holiday, graduation, new season, etc.

While on my last weekly Plato's Closet run, I've curated 3 trendy fall outfits that are easy to recreate for yourself!

Outfit 1:

Kimonos are one of the pieces that are worn all summer, and never seem to go out of style. For this look, I wanted to be able to share how you can easily take that summer piece and work it into your Fall transition wardrobe. I don't know about you, but there's a sea of kimonos just hanging in my closet, and I want to wear them as long as I possibly can!

Personally, I always pair my kimonos with a good basic top. When wearing a kimono, it's supposed to be the star of the show! Make it pop by simply adding a basic cami, or tank top underneath so it's not so distracting.

I finished the look off by adding jeans and booties which give it the PERFECT fall finishing and details! Although the top of my outfit is a bit light and airy, the bottom half give me that warmth for Fall.

Kimono: American Eagle - $10
Jeans: American Eagle (Never worn with tags!!) - $20
Tank: American Eagle - $6
Booties: Vince Camuto (So similar to this year's Nsale ones)- $14

Outfit 2:

I could barely even wait to share this outfit with you guys! This sweater was a crazy find! If you follow other bloggers or keep up with fashion trends, then you know that distressed hem sweaters were a huge hit last year that retailers are bringing them back again this year. I was so happy to find this sweater, because it is currently being sold by many boutiques for around $50!

For this look, I went pretty simple, and paired the sweater with jeans and booties again to create a casual feel that can be worn for apple picking, dinner, shopping, etc. Always love staple items like these jeans and boots that can be worn for multiple occasions, and never go out of style! I left the sweater hang off the shoulder for that cozy, oversized look. Lastly, I topped it off with my own hat, because I felt it added a little extra something and topped off the look.

Sweater: Miracle - $9
Jeans: American Eagle (Never worn with tags!!) - $20
Booties: Vince Camuto (So similar to this year's Nsale ones)- $14

Outfit 3:

This last one is definitely my favorite. Another great find, was this Free People tunic for a steal! Every time I'm at Plato's Closet, I absolutely have to check out their Free People section. You just never know!

What I love about this tunic especially is that you can decide what you want to wear it as. It's long enough to be a dress, yet also a good length that it would look great paired with leggings and booties. If you have anything like this in your closet, or see anything similar somewhere, with the right styling, you can really make it work!

I paired the tunic with some over the knee boots to elongate my legs, and not make the tunic look as short. A dress and over the knee boots combo is always a Fall staple look you can never go wrong with.

I also added a belt to accentuate my waist since there was no shape to the tunic, as well as the hat to make it more fall friendly.

Tunic/Dress: Free People - $16
Boots: $14
Belt: $4

I hope you are able to get some fall transition inspiration from these outfits, and can apply these tips to you current wardrobe, or any new pieces you may find along the way. As always, thanks for reading!
